Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods – and imprisoned just as quickly – Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
Black Adam a fast paced origin story with a lot of action from start to finish. Being one of the films that is bringing in the new DCEU from Warner Bros. plus is it a new look to the future of the DC Universe?
The film goes straight forward to the origins in a very fast paced manner just dumping full information to the viewers. Sadly it should’ve been a little more tone down to explaining the origins of this character just in case your viewer is not a comic book reader.
In terms of story in a mayor sense this film a pretty decent simple story line to make the statement and the set-up of what is gonna happen with the all might Black Adam. As well give props to the simple plot due to what i mention earlier in regards the information dump.
The film has a mixture of Indiana Jones, Meets The Mummy and no not the Tom Cruise The Mummy. Why? Because it has that feeling of Adventure and finding tombs as well bringing back evil i would say.
In all the film did what it wanted to do not be a mayor origin story film and be a bombastic action superhero film. The question is still there was this the beginning of the new DCEU or was it a film that says we are still using the Znyderverse?
Many scenes of the film bring highlights of Zack Snyder’s touch. You can tell in the colors as well with some scenes bringing and homage to the filmmaker from 300 and as well his recent work of the Znyder cut. Interesting fact on how much he influences the DCEU.
The cast of Black Adam brought this film to life specially certain characters that i would say for me brung there a game to the film. Let’s name them Quintessa Swindell (Cyclone), Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher), Pierce Brosnan (Dr.Fate), Aldis Hodge (Hawkman) and Sarah Sahi (Adrianna).
My mayor two highlights of the film are Noah and Quintessa these two should be considered as prodigy’s for the future of Hollywood stars. They have many backgrounds and credits to show that they can be part of something bigger and it should be that way.
These actor did an amazing job on bring there characters To life. They brung the little kid in me out specially seeing Dr.Fate in action still all of them showed that they are meant to be in the big screen. I would love to see them all once again either in a movie or DC series.
About Dwayne Johnson (Black Adam) he did what he has mentioned for many years. Solidify the fact that he is Black Adam why? Because he became that villain and anti/hero to the mix even thou the film felt fast paced you could feel his presence as Black Adam.
Black Adam is an action-packed DC film with the Zack Snyder feel and touch. The DCEU will always have his blueprint to follow and continue the film is fun and enjoyable the end credit scene is what brings this film to a whole because it opens up a very wide range of the future of the DCEU.
