A few hours after 1988 Halloween night, four 12-year-old girls have to face a mission. Trapped in a complicated conflict, they will travel in time to save the world.
It’s 1988 and while making my Paper route during the morning. Meeting up with other Paper Girls from the same strip we found ourselves on a Misson and Conflict to save the world and Time travel.
Paper Girls have amazing four characters that we follow throughout this whole series and what makes it unique is not only the fact that this is based on a popular comic book series. We have Tiffany Quilkin (Camryn Jones), Erin Tieng (Riley Lai Nelet), Mac Coyle (Sofia Rosinsky), and KJ Brandman (Fina Strazza) each of these characters goes threw a lot in this plot line and it keeps you as the audience thrilled to see what is coming up next.
Each character was played amazingly by each actress and brought to life each other aspects and uniqueness. Plus you can relate to each one of them or find one of them to have that personal bond. Just imagine having four different personalities, as well as different lifestyles, clashing especially because is an 80s setting for these characters.
Not giving many details about these characters they developed them so well that you feel that they are made to be identified with one’s self. Why? During the series, each one of our beloved characters goes threw many hardship moments as well they get many reality checks on each other’s personal lives. This is one of the main reasons why Paper Girls is a must-watch series.
Bringing these characters to life but each one of them complements each other as well with their chemistry throughout the series, You can notice that they had a lot of fun and enjoyed this experience. A major highlight that you can take out from Paper Girls is how the rest of the cast members complement the girls. Why? In every scene, you can notice how these veteran actors want to make the girls shine.
Having someone like Adina Porter (Prioress) and Ali Wong (Adult Erin) brought to the table more for these girls to shine as they should. Throughout the series, you can see in many emotive scenes that they bring to life as well how they react to them and bring you to tears or give you some laughs. Like I have mentioned before I do feel that we have many stars in the making for cinema.
Paper Girls, we follow this Time War between two Factions one that wants to alter time for their gain and another that wants balance in the time stream. Our Paper Girls Mac, Tiffany, Erin, and KJ get mixed up in this Time War and they are the ones that need to save the world. The story is very intriguing especially when from episode to episode they keep giving you more details about the Time War.
Having our characters change up to different years in time and seeing how they adapt as well as being interested in their future selves. Where you as the audience might have the question of what if I can see where I end up from now to 10 years? Seeing how as well each time jump affects them in their personal lives and builds up their characters for future endeavors of the plotline.
Paper Girls is like seeing a different version of the film Project Almanac directed by Dean Israelite. Why? you have a Time War and a group of young kids to try and save the world with a different twist but have the same feeling when you think about it. when finishing the series I felt that there is more to come when we get to the next season and more will be unfolded.
That is why I compare it with Project Almanac that this group of Your Adults discover time travel and start messing with Time for personal gain. Like life has shown us what you cause can have an effect in the future or in the moment this series is the same thing but in an inverted plotline. Here the Girls are trying to Save the world from others’ Actions.
This series is a must-watch if you are someone that loves Sci-Fi and Time Travel this series is for you. Especially when you can connect, love, and cry with the characters throughout the episode and be fully emerged with the story I can tell you that you will enjoy it. Paper Girls will take you threw time and space and make sure that you will stay in your seat to binge-watch this series.
